Through this purchase The Brick House took a major step forward in controlling its own space needs and working toward sustainability as an organization. The upstairs front will be rent-able commercial space for the near future. Substantial renovations are taking place, particularly on the ground floor where an accessible doorway and accessible restroom are being added.
The front section downstairs houses the Third Street Village Arts programs and community art gallery. The middle section will hold our Community Technology Center as well as teen center lounge space.
We have been working on a small garden and patio, as well as a mural on the side of the building across the alley. This helps us to have a much more appealing space for staff, community, and teens to spend time. This also included a donation of materials and labor from six local contractors to pave the alley.

The Teen Center has been steadily upgrading its entertainment. Now in addition to computers, musical instruments, board games, etc.; we have a pool table, ping pong table, and a foos ball table, and an air hockey table. Where else can you play for free?
Our Community Technology Center is up and running with six Windows XP computers online with DSL. The computers also host a handful of useful software applications including Microsoft Office Professional (with Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and more) and Adobe Photoshop Elements.
The Ave A Music Project's recording studio has been slowly renovated. The studio has been in use since the beginning of 2005. Much equipment upgrading has happened since the studio's re-opening on Third Street. The recording computer is now a Mac Mini running GarageBand. There is an attached MIDI keyboard which allows users to access hundreds of instrument sounds built into the software, and Roland monitor speakers to make mixes sound clear.
